【重要】令和6年度のフェローシップ・次世代事業の募集に関して

概要

　 新潟大学は、国立研究開発法人科学技術振興機構（JST）が公募した「次世代研究者挑戦的研究プログラム　～博士後期課程学生の挑戦を支援する～」に採択されました。
本プログラムは、新たに大学の研究科や研究室など既存の枠組みを越えて優秀な博士後期課程学生の選抜等を行う事業統括を選定し、そのリーダーシップのもと、当該博士後期課程学生に対する様々な支援を実施・展開する大学の取組を国として支援するものです。
これを受けて、新潟大学では副学長（大学院担当）を事業統括とした「未来のライフ・イノベーションを創出するフロントランナー育成プロジェクト」を開始し、博士後期課程の全研究科（医学、歯学系の４年制の博士課程を含む）を対象に優秀な学生を選抜し、経済的支援・研究費支援を行うとともに、様々なキャリアパス支援に向けた取り組みを行っていきます。これにより、多様な分野でイノベーションを創出する博士人材を育成することを目指します。

新潟大学が求める学生像　Those who Niigata Univ. recruires

　新潟大学では、既存の枠組みにとらわれない挑戦的・融合的な研究に取り組むことができ、また多様な分野でイノベーションを創出できる次世代の博士人材を育成するべく、未来のライフ・イノベーションを創出するフロントランナー※育成プロジェクト制度（以下、次世代プロジェクト）を設け、優秀な博士課程学生の処遇向上とキャリアパスの支援に取り組みます。次世代プロジェクトに採用された学生には研究奨励費として生活費相当額及び研究費が支給されるだけでなく、学内短期留学制度による挑戦的・融合的な研究に取り組むこと、学内のキャリアパス支援プログラムに参加することが求められ、学位取得後には期間中に培った能力を生かして産業界を中心とする社会の様々な場で活躍することが期待されます。
　本学のライフ・イノベーションを創出するフロントランナー育成プロジェクト制度の趣旨をよく理解し、将来の我が国の科学技術・イノベーションを担う意欲に溢れる博士課程学生が数多く申請することを希望します。

In order to develop next-generation doctoral talents capable of performing challenging and interdisciplinary research that goes beyond existing frameworks and creating innovation in diverse areas, Niigata University has established the Front Runner Development Project for Facilitating Future Life Innovation*1 (hereinafter referred to as the “next-generation project”) with an aim to improve treatment and help forming career paths of doctoral course students with excellent academic performance. Students accepted for the next-generation project are not only provided with financial support for covering their living and research expenses under a research grant, but also are required to undertake challenging and interdisciplinary research under the Short-term Cross-laboratory Study Program, as well as to participate in career path support programs held on campus. After earning degrees, they are expected to take advantage of the abilities developed during the period of the project to play active roles in various social fields, mainly industrial. We hope that many doctoral course students who fully understand the purpose of the next-generation project and are highly motivated to play prominent roles in science and technology as well as innovation of Japan in the future will apply for the project.

This project is implemented by Niigata University under the project “Support for Pioneering Research Initiated by the Next Generation” of the Japan Science and Technology Agency.

◆支援内容　Recruitment details

１．生活費相当額の支給及び研究費の支給
　（１）生活費相当額月15 万円を２ヶ月毎に支給する
　（２）研究費 年額 40 万円とする。取り組み内容によって研究費を増額することがある
２．メンターによる研究環境支援及びアカデミアまたは産業界へのキャリア形成に関する助言や提言
３．PhDリクルート室によるジェネリックスキル獲得のためのセミナー等コンテンツの提供
４．入学料（採用内定後に入学する場合）及び授業料（採用日の属する月以降）の免除（別途申請が必要）

In ENGLSIH,

１． Financial support for living and research expenses
　（１）Financial support for research concentration (amount for covering the living expenses): Payment of 150,000 yen/month is provided once in two months
　（２）Research expenses: 400,000 yen/year. The amount may be increased depending on details of the project
２． A mentor’s support of the student’s research environment and assistance and suggestions for forming the student’s career in academia or business
３．Contents provided by PhD Career Support Office,, such as seminars for acquiring generic skills
４．Exemption from enrollment fees (in the case of enrollment after being accepted for the Next-generation project) and tuition (after being accepted). (A separate application is required.)
