令和6年能登半島地震の影響により、新潟大学附属図書館内各所で歪み等の危険な箇所が認められ、修繕工事のため当面利用不可となりました。
本コロキウムは図書館を開催会場と予定していましたが、以下に変更いたします。

新潟大学若手データサイエンティストコロキウム2024 (YDSC2024)
現代社会はこれまで、情報化社会として様々なIT技術により大きく発展してきました。それに伴い、社会のあらゆる領域で．人々の活動が大量のデータとして記録、蓄積されてきました。それらを分析して得られた有益な情報や知見を，社会の発展へと活かす技術を「データサイエンス」と呼びます。この技術は，今日の産学官界で盛んに活用されています。
データサイエンスの技術には、情報の可視化，機械学習，AIなどがあります。これらを使いこなす「データサイエンティスト」の需要は、現代社会においてますます高まることが予想されます。
一方、データサイエンスの分野は誕生してから日が浅く、参入するきっかけは少ないのが現状です。そこで「Young Data Scientists Colloquium 2024（YDSC2024)」として、広く門戸を開放したシンポジウムの開催を決定いたしました。YDSC2024では多様な分野からの参入機会を提供するだけではなく、分野横断的な交流の促進・発展も目的としております。
プログラムは、3部構成になっています。招待講演、パネルディスカッションそして学生によるポスター発表からなります。講師には、実際に産業界でデータサイエンス活用の最前線におられる方々をお招きします。パネルディスカッションでは事前に質問を募集し、それを講師の方々と議論します。
ポスター発表は、データを活用した研究であれば分野・学年を問わず参加できます。ぜひ発表をご検討ください。

Niigata University Young Data Scientists Colloquium 2024 (YDSC2024)
Today’s society has been greatly developed by various IT technologies as an information-oriented society. As a result, in all areas of society, people’s activities have been recorded and accumulated as a large amount of data. As a result, people’s activities have been recorded and accumulated as a large amount of data. Analyzing this data and finding useful information and knowledge will lead to further development of society. Such technology is called “data science” and is actively used in industry, academia, and government today.
Data science technologies range from basic ones such as information visualization to more advanced ones such as machine learning and AI. The demand for “data scientists” who can master these. is expected to increase more and more in today’s society.
On the other hand, the field of data science is still in its infancy, and there are few opportunities to enter the field. Therefore, we have decided to hold a symposium, “YDSC2024,” which will not only provide opportunities for entry from a variety of fields, but also promote and develop cross-disciplinary exchanges.
The program consists of three parts. The program consists of three parts: invited lectures, panel discussions, and poster presentations by students. The lecturers will be people who are actually at the forefront of data science applications in industry. In the panel discussion, questions are solicited in advance and discussed with the lecturers.
Poster presentations are open to any field of research that utilizes data. Please consider making a presentation.
